  • Another excellent webinar! I'm a bit sad though because I'm jealous of all the fantastic records Connecticut has. Why can't ALL of my ancestors be from Connecticut?
  • Excellent! So many sources and exciting possibilities for more research. Marian clearly knows her stuff and imparts her knowledge succinctly.
  • I especially appreciate both the big picture of Connecticut Genealogy and the places to look for specific data.
  • Marian was so easy to listen to, and to follow. I appreciated that her slides were on the screen long enough to take legible notes. I learned a lot and am anxious to reinvestigate some sources I've used before. I'm so glad she mentioned those BLUE CARDS. Hope you invite her to speak again.
  • Thank you, Marian for the great sites and suggestions to expand our search for records...and PROOFS!
  • There were several items that were NEW and most was of value. CT is so far away but hopefully with these new tools and links it won't matter where it is. Thank you so much. I have to say I love the way we can view other websites (FamilySearchWiki) and software (animap) while on the webinar....... great idea
  • Very well organized presenter. Easy & understandable, but a lot of material covered. Very encouraging; pointed out new (to us) sources. Valuable!

About the presenter:

Marian, a native of Connecticut, grew up in a picturesque colonial town surrounded by historic houses and an ancient burial ground. During her childhood she was nurtured into the ways of genealogy by a mother who had spent a better part of every Saturday during the 1960s at the Connecticut State Library. A poster calendar on the kitchen wall recorded five generations of ancestors’ birthdays for every day celebration. Now Marian is a House Historian and Genealogical Lecturer who specializes in southern New England (CT, RI, MA) research. She frequently speaks on New England topics including house history research, social media, African American research and a broad range of genealogical topics. She is the author of several blogs including The New England House Historian and Marian's Roots & Rambles.
